A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, slick, hydrophobic layer. It changes how the surface of your car behaves: water beads and sheets off instead of sitting in flat sheets, dirt and brake dust struggle to key into the paint, and the finish gains a depth of gloss that no wax holds onto for more than a few weeks.
What it is not is armour. A coating is measured in microns — it will not stop a stone chip, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling. For impact protection you want paint protection film, which is a physical film hundreds of microns thick. The two work well together: PPF on the front end where the stones hit, ceramic coating over the whole car for gloss and easy washing. If you're weighing one against the other, read our PPF vs ceramic coating guide.
Water and dirt sheet straight off. The car stays visibly cleaner between washes, and washing takes half the time it used to.
Wax looks great for a month. A properly cured coating holds its depth and reflection for years, not weeks.
Gauteng sun, bird droppings, tree sap and acid rain do far less damage to a coated clear coat than a bare one.
Swirl marks and wash scratches are machine-polished out before coating. A coating over neglected paint just seals the flaws in.
No more monthly waxing. Wash it properly every two to three weeks and the coating does the rest.
Panel by panel, levelled and inspected under our workshop lighting — not sprayed on and rushed out the door.
Three ceramic coating packages, priced per vehicle and named for the protection they deliver. Everything listed is included as standard. Larger vehicles and paint that needs heavy correction can carry an adjustment — we confirm that in writing after a free paint inspection, before any work starts.
Prices are per vehicle and every quote is free and no-obligation. Send photos of your car on WhatsApp — in daylight, ideally after a wash — and we'll tell you which package your paint actually needs rather than which one costs most.
A ceramic coating job is mostly preparation. The coating itself takes an afternoon; getting the paint ready for it is the real work.
We assess your paint under workshop lighting, measure clear coat where it matters, and show you what correction is realistic. You get a fixed quote and a package recommendation before we start.
Full hand wash, then chemical decontamination for iron fallout and tar, then a clay bar to lift bonded contamination. The surface has to be chemically clean for the coating to bond.
Machine polishing to remove swirl marks, wash scratches and light etching. This is the step that changes how the car looks — the coating preserves the result rather than creating it.
Coating applied by hand panel by panel, levelled, and inspected under multiple light angles. Then it cures indoors before the car leaves — no rushing it out into the rain.
| Service life | Each package is named for the manufacturer rating of the coating we apply — six months, three years or five years. Preparation and aftercare affect real-world life more than the product does, so we confirm the exact product and its rating in writing at quote stage, and we'd rather under-promise than sell you a number we can't stand behind. |

| Written warranty | The 3-Year and 5-Year Ceramic packages include a written warranty on the coating covering premature failure, loss of hydrophobic behaviour and delamination. |
| Installation warranty | Covered by us. High spots, streaking or an uneven finish — bring it back and we'll correct it. |
| Not covered | Stone chips and impact damage (that's what PPF is for), damage from automatic brush washes, abrasive polishes or compounds, and coatings applied to paint we advised needed correction that was declined. |
| Aftercare | Keep it dry for the curing period we specify at collection. Then wash every two to three weeks with pH-neutral shampoo and the two-bucket method, dry with clean microfibre, and stay out of brush washes entirely. |
| Maintenance | The 5-Year Ceramic package includes a maintenance wash. We're happy to service coated cars on any package — a periodic decontamination wash and topper keeps beading at its best. |

Straight answers, including the things ceramic coating cannot do. More in our full FAQ.
Our packages start at R1,899 for the 6-Month Ceramic, R3,899 for the 3-Year Ceramic and R4,899 for the 5-Year Ceramic, priced per vehicle. Larger vehicles and paint needing heavy correction can carry an adjustment, because a new car that needs a light polish and a three-year-old daily with swirl marks throughout are very different jobs. Send us photos on WhatsApp or book a free inspection and we'll confirm your price in writing.
It depends on the product and, more than anything, on preparation and aftercare. Our packages carry six-month, three-year and five-year manufacturer ratings. We confirm the exact rating for the product we quote you in writing before you commit — and we'd rather under-promise than sell you a number we can't stand behind. A coating that's washed properly outlasts one that goes through brush washes, every time.
No, and any installer who tells you it does is overselling it. A ceramic coating is measured in microns — it is a chemical layer that changes how the surface behaves, not a cushion. If you want stone-chip protection you need paint protection film, which is a physical film with real thickness. Many of our clients fit PPF to the front end and ceramic coat the whole car. See our PPF vs ceramic coating comparison.
Three things. It makes the paint hydrophobic, so water and dirt sheet off instead of clinging — the car stays cleaner between washes and washing takes half as long. It adds depth and gloss that wax cannot match and does not wash away after a month. And it adds chemical and UV resistance, so bird droppings, tree sap and Gauteng sun do far less damage to the clear coat.
Almost always, yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it — including swirl marks and etching. That's why the bulk of the job is decontamination, clay bar and machine polishing. If your car is brand new we may only need a light single-stage polish. On an older car, correction is where the real transformation happens and the coating is what preserves it.
Budget 2–3 days for most vehicles. Longer if the paint needs multi-stage correction. The coating also needs to cure before the car gets wet, so we'll confirm a collection time that accounts for that.
Wash every two to three weeks with a pH-neutral shampoo using the two-bucket method, and dry with a clean microfibre towel. Avoid automatic brush washes entirely and never use an abrasive polish or compound, which cuts straight through the coating. Done properly, the water beading and gloss stay put for years.
Yes. A coating over a gloss or satin vinyl wrap makes the wrap much easier to keep clean and helps protect it from UV. We use a product suited to vinyl rather than paint, so tell us it's wrapped when you book.
